Since gays & lesbians can't say "I do", Clergy say "I won't"

I agree, we all have the right to fall in love with and marry whom we want. As a Southern CA
resident I voted against Prop 8, but apparently there are many here who do not agree with me.
What is the phrase that applies best here..."To each their own" HJS

Since gays & lesbians can't say "I do", Clergy say "I won't"
salon.com — As part of a nationwide movement, some clergy are refusing to oversee the union of couples until the right to marry is granted to all, and laws like Proposition 8 in California, which deny the right of same-sex couples to marry, are repealed.

Hi Writergal,
I sent a message today. I will get at least one thing said: The problem is either my computer or my lack of knowledge. When I implied that you deleted my messages, I'd been fighting the computer (frustrated), soaked with sweat (desert heat), falling asleep, but afraid to quit til I hit send since on many sites, if you quit before you're done, all your info is lost. I was hurt on Tyra, not here. I am sincerely sorry I implied that you or Rosewoman deleted my messages. Awake, I felt the problem was my lack of basic knowledge ie computers. I like you, and owe you both an apology. I really hope you get the last message, or this--I owe you an apology and am making every effort to tell you.

Hello there Metta
I am not at all sure what happened or why you did not see all of your attempts to reply but all of them are here and I am leaving them so you know we did not delete them. Thanks for your compliments about my writing. One thing about Boomerville USA is that we believe in agreeing to disagree and neither Goldustwoman/Vickie nor I would delete posts unless absolutely necessary. Thanks for writing to this topic..HJS

This is my 3d & last attempt to respond to your post. This com[puter and I are in bad shape. I gave details, but I just can't do it again. My posts were in no way offensive, so why were they deleted? Or where did they go? This one is likely to disappear too.

I tried to say I agreed with you, that love should b e allowed between any people. Homosexuals would love to hold hands in public, I'm sure. They want to celebrate their commitment (marry) and need the same legal rights as Heterosexuals.

Love shouldn't be regulated, but rather encouraged. There's enough hurt in the world. And I love what the clergy is doing. I hope many join them.

I also said you are a good writer.

If those first 2 posts show up, would you please let me know? I also have a new message inmy inbox. It sends me here, but still says the message is waiting for me. Help. I hope to hear from you.

Well done.

iHi,

've written 2 comments on your post ie gays & lesbians, but they disappeared. If you get them let me knowl. My computer is in bad shape: what I was able to in 5 minutes now only taikes 5 hours., but I get emails.

I agreed with you. Let love live and grow. It's what we need most. What give the govt the right to decide who you can love. I really like whatt the clergy are doing too.

End--I may lose this one too, So I wish you well and find you a good writer with a reasonable mind. Hope to hear from you,

I agree. I typed another response, but it got deleted before I was able to send it. I vote for love wherever it is. It's the one thing the world needs SO much. Furthermore, 2 people's love for each other is nobody's business, but it is precious. Gay people need the same legal rights as any married couple.

That this is even an issue given that people are losing their homes, going hungry, dieing in Iraq, etc. but we have to stop love wherever we can. Sorry for the sarcasm. To deny people the rights associated with love is unconscionable. How nice it would be to see gay couples holding hands in public. How wonderful it would be for them.

I have to edit with most people--I'd like to speak freely.

People learn by example. If they see enough love between anyone repeatedly, they might be influenced to become more loving. This just makes no sense. I'm with you, and I love what the clergy is doing. I hope as many as possible follow suit.

I've been out of touch due to illness, government/dmv issues, and my computer is more dead than alive.

It also reaches 120F in the only place for the computer, (but I didn't realize how strongly I felt about this until I read your post). Meaning I may not be able to be online much til fall.

Well done!
